CHANT & HARMONIUM

What if your voice could heal you? A workshop to explore the transformative power of singing.

An Indian harmonium, and a single question: what can your voice do when given all the space it needs? No need to know how to sing, or to know music. Here, the voice is not a talent to prove, but a tool to explore — a space where energy circulates, where emotions find a way through, where the body releases what it holds. Carried by the continuous sound of the Indian harmonium, each session opens a space of vocal exploration that is at once playful, deep, and nurturing, in a small group so that everyone can truly unfold within it.

Actress, singer, and musician, I have always been passionate about the healing power of the voice — a quest that has run through my entire training. It begins with Grotowski, and his physical and vocal theater, the subject of my first research thesis at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York: how the body and voice, pushed to their limits, reveal a truth that words alone cannot express. It continues with Anna Halprin and her Life Art Process, which I studied in France and then at the Tamalpa Institute in San Francisco — a method where movement and expression become paths of transformation. And it deepens further with Indian Carnatic music and musico-evolution, which taught me that the voice, once freed, opens the circulation of energy and emotion throughout the whole body. It is all of this research — theatrical, somatic, musical — that I now bring to these workshops. Not a singing lesson: an invitation to listen to what your voice has to tell you.
