OUR INNER BEAUTIES

"We have spent more time sitting in a circle than outside of one."
A circle of women of all ages, gathering to bring a living memory to the surface and transform it into collective creation.free dance workshop, inspired by Anna Halprin's Life Art Process: 2 hours of free dance, with music, in a group, every week. Come dance without expectations, without pressure, with strangers, in a vast and supportive space of freedom.  

 

Mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters, women of all ages and all backgrounds: Our Inner Beauties brings together this intergenerational circle to explore the great stages of a woman's life — the spring of childhood, the summer of giving birth, the autumn of leadership, the winter of wisdom and transmission.

 

Over 8 workshops of 2 hours each, movement, voice, words, and music bring an intimate material to the surface, which the group transforms together into a participatory show. Each woman explores her creative strength, her vitality, her rightful place — and leaves feeling a little more connected to the other generations.

 

The cycles of the female body concern all women, yet remain little known, and sometimes difficult to address within the family. Theater makes visible these beliefs, these ways of looking at oneself and at others — and the intergenerational collaboration required to build the show develops empathy, listening, and trust.

 

In the age of screens, committing to a sustained collective experience is a way of choosing another path: one of encounter, of connection, of shared energy — to be reborn together into a new way of being in society.
